The Atmosphere

When you walk into Stella’s, you’ll be greeted by warm and friendly staff. The room is open, but you’ll enjoy a personal seating space with plush and comfortable chairs. Owner Lori Burson wanted to create a space that holds an atmosphere to reflect the neighborhood’s feel; thus fulfilling her “neighborhood restaurant’ dream.

And she has done just that. The décor is a sweet combination of modern, cozy, and stylish. Inside this restaurant, you’re sure to enjoy your meal in an fun and relaxed environment. Oh, and don’t worry about dressing any sort of way. As she puts it, “You’ll be comfortable here in cargo shorts or a tuxedo.”

How It Started

In 2010, Lori Burson opened up Stella Modern Cuisine leveraging her 20 years’ worth of experience in the restaurant industry. She cultivated a vast amount of knowledge throughout her experience in various restaurants, which she carries with her to this day. Wanting to open a restaurant close to her neighborhood of Heritage Hills, she decided to build her legacy nearby in Midtown.

While designing the menu, she wanted to ensure guests had something new each visit; so you’ll find seasonal items offered throughout the year. Stella’s restaurant provides an unrivaled dining experience featuring a bespoke wood-burning oven and an extensive wine selection with approximately 80 different bottles from Italy and the United States.

Committed to bringing customers the best flavors, they use a special wood-burning oven. This is how they produce an array of delicacies such as Roman-style pizza and other meals listed on the menu. The culinary team helmed by Executive Chef Chris McKenna has crafted a modern menu, highlighting traditional Italian recipes with a contemporary twist.

If it’s your first time, I recommend starting with the pizza; especially if you’ve never had one cooked inside a wood-burning oven. If you’re in the mood for something more simple, such as a sandwich, the grilled salmon BLT or house meatball are both excellent options. These meals come with soup, organic greens, Caesar salad, or grilled vegetables as accompaniments.

At Stella restaurant, you can also enjoy a delicious dinner of varied pasta options and rotating specials. Also on the menu, you’ll find a selection of culinary delicacies including the oven-roasted veal Osso Bucco and the grilled pork loin with green lentils, rainbow chard, green apples, and pork jus. You can’t go wrong either option.

In addition to their usual dishes, you can big and indulge in their rustic beef ragout with penne pasta and a grilled flat iron steak. And be sure you save room for one of the delicious desserts.
