The Mule – Beer, Sandwiches, & More!

If you’re in the mood for some hot melts and cold beer, look no further! Whether you want to enjoy a nice meal out with the family, or go solo and catch a football game while having a drink, The Mule has something for everyone.

Located in the Plaza district, The Mule has become one of my favorite local places to eat in OKC. And with a new location in Edmond, some of y’all don’t have to drive as far to get some of that delicious Okie Poutine.

If it’s your first time, I recommend the Macaroni Pony with some cheese fries. The Macaroni Pony comes with a Slice of American Cheese, Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork, 3 Cheese Mac and Cheese, Pickles, served between 2 slices of Jalapeño Cornbread. (Any else drooling right about now, or just me?) You also can’t go wrong with the “Big Ass Grilled Cheese” with a side of House Tomato Soup – extra satisfying when it’s chilly outside.

If you prefer something a little more traditional, there’s always ‘The Burger’ or BCLT, which the option of adding Avocado or an egg for a small upcharge. I prefer Sweet Potato Fries on the side, but there’s also home fries, tator tots, or fried okra to choose from.

Gluten intolerant? They even have an option for gluten free bread used for the sandwiches for an additional $2.

Here’s the full menu on their website: The Mule Menu

If you want a tasty drink to go along with your meal, or skip the meal altogether and go straight for the drinks – check out their selection of beer, ciders & seltzers, cocktails, and wine list here: The Mule Drinks List

Where to Park for The Mule?

Parking can be a little challenging on the weekends.  Generally, you can find a place along NW 16th if there isn’t a place right in front of The Mule.  However, if you can’t find parking on 16th or in the front, there’s a parking lot just south of their building on Blackwelder Ave. There’s a small fee to park there, but it’s close by and worth it.

The rumor is they’ll be moving locations just down the street in the near future, so you may look to park elsewhere or be prepared to walk a few blocks if you’re reading this after they move.
