Located in the heart of the Plaza District, Aurora is a fairly new trendy spot that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. This vibrant restaurant is located in a historic building that has been beautifully renovated to offer a modern ambiance.

The Beginning of Aurora

The building was purchased in 2016 and underwent extensive renovations to transform it into the vibrant restaurant it is today. The restaurant opened its doors in 2018 and quickly became known for its delicious breakfast dishes, craft cocktails, and inviting atmosphere.

Although it unexpectedly closed its doors in 2019, Jordan and Jamie Winteroth stepped in with their business partner, Dallas Cody Barnett, to reopen the restaurant with a commitment to keeping almost everything as it was.

A Vibrant Atmosphere

The interior of Aurora features a modern and industrial design, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and sleek furnishings. One of the highlights of Aurora is its expansive backyard, which features a large patio, a beautiful mural, a fire pit, and a garden. The backyard is the perfect spot for guests to relax with a drink or enjoy a meal al fresco.

What’s good on the menu?

This quaint breakfast and lunch spot features a menu crafted from freshly-sourced and local ingredients. If you’re looking for something on the healthy or lighter side, you might want to try the yogurt bowl, overnight oats, or French toast. Or dive right in to a house-made biscuit, plated with delightful toppings like gravy, egg and cheese, and jam.

There are also several soup and salad options that are sure to satisfy. The Savory Lentil & Hummus Bowl is a crowed favorite, or go for the daily soup with their selection rotating weekly.

Aurora serves their full menu all day, so no one will blink an eye if you’re in the mood for pancakes at lunch.

This is also a coffee shop, so you can pair your meal with a specialty coffee drink. Drinks are specially made by an expert barista with locally-roasted beans from Hoboken coffee.
