Oklahoma City’s Lee’s Sandwiches (and more)

Lee’s Sandwiches has become a local favorite in the Asian district – but not just for sandwiches. On any given day, you can see a group of men playing games just outside on the sidewalk, or a line in the drive-through waiting for their coffee and pastry.

From Euro sandwiches, to their Asian and breakfast sandwiches, there’s something at Lee’s for everyone to enjoy.

Let’s explore a little about Lee’s and some favorite menu options…

The Beginning of Lee’s Sandwiches

outside of Lee's sandwiches storeLee’s Sandwiches opened its doors for Oklahoma City in 2008 as the 34th location.  However, the history of Lee Sandwiches goes back much further…

Chieu Le, the founder of Lee’s Sandwiches, noticed the potential of catering trucks when he came to San Jose in 1981. With his brother Henry, he created Lee Bros. Foodservices Inc. quickly grew into one of Northern California’s largest industrial catering businesses.

The store gained its popularity due to the banh mi sandwiches made by Chieu’s parents. In 2001, Chieu and his eldest son Minh decided to upgrade the concept by introducing European-style sandwiches, baguettes that are freshly baked, croissants, and an array of drinks to choose from including Lee’s Coffee. It is now known as the biggest Bánh Mì chain with over sixty locations around the world.

What are the must-try foods?

Stop by this place to experience Vietnamese and French fusion cuisine! For breakfast, you’ll have to try the Ham, Egg, & Cheese croissants and baguettes. At lunch or dinner, go for their amazing Banh Mi Sandwiches – they’re some of the best in Oklahoma City!

If you want something more authentic, then try any of their Banh Chung’s, bao’s, hoi’s, cuon’s xeo’s or beo’s .  And you might be surprised that they serve some of the best fried chicken wings around. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a Smoothie (add boba to it for a pizzazz), or simply go for an iced coffee.

Lee’s Coffee

Lee’s has several coffee drinks to choose from, including regular brewed hot coffee, Lee’s Cold Brew, Frappe Blended Caramel, and Espresso Special Lattes to name a few.  My personal favorite drink of all time is the simple “Lee’s Coffee”.  It’s iced Vietnamese coffee at its finest, and you won’t regret trying it.

Other Beverages

The Beverages don’t stop at coffee.  Here, you’ll find drinks you won’t find anywhere else.  Try their Iced Mint Milk, Iced Soybean Milk, or Smashed Avocado with Durian.  There’s definitely new experiences to be had.
